New York City, NY, United States (AHN) – A federal judge in New York City struck down a 2009 law requiring retailers to post graphic and gruesome photos of damages caused from cigarette smoking next to tobacco products or cash registers.

A recent check by Grass Valley police found businesses within city limits licensed to sell tobacco are properly displaying signs warning against the sale of related products to minors.It was the first time police had checked on compliance of the ordinance, passed by City Council in November 2009. The ordinance also requires businesses to display their licenses.
