Oklahoma’s tobacco-using military veterans will be urged to quit

Tobacco use of veterans living in one of seven national centers in Oklahoma will be asked to give up their habits in the near future, but probably will not be forced to leave their homes if they do not smoke, according to a letter sent on behalf of Governor Mary Fallin in the Veterans Commission.

UK tobacco display ban to reduce the habit of youth

A ban on tobacco displays shall come into force in England. Ministers hope it will help curb the number of young people taking up smoking. Cigarettes and other products must be below the counter in major department stores and supermarkets, while the smaller outlets to release until 2015.

WTO ruling a blow to U.S. anti-smoking efforts

In a blow to the Obama administration’s efforts to prevent youth from smoking, the World Trade Organization appeals panel Wednesday upheld the earlier decision that the prohibition in the United States discriminates against Indonesian clove cigarettes.
