Production of the country’s largest export provider, which provides a livelihood for millions of people in Zimbabwe is under siege from the World Health Organization (WHO) Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC).

Scientists have developed a vaccine that can be successfully treated nicotine dependence in mice, according to a study published Wednesday in Science Translational Medicine. With just one dose of vaccine protected mice from nicotine addiction to the end of his life, researchers say. The vaccine works by inducing the liver of animal as a “factory” that continually produces antibodies. Antibodies, and then absorb the nicotine, as soon as it enters the bloodstream, preventing it to reach the brain and heart.
